The American Bankruptcy Institute says that the number of bankruptcies in America has went up nearly 40% in the last year.

In 2006, 573,203 residents in the United States filed for bankruptcy. In 2007, more than 801,840 United States citizens filed for bankruptcy. What is the cause of this jump? Studies showed that the majority of the filings were caused by the home mortgage crisis. For 2008, the American Bankruptcy Institute predicts the number or people filing for bankruptcy will rise another 7.5%. The American Bankruptcy Institute also predicts that more jobs will be lost this year.

If so there is, gas prices are being predicted to stay about where they are right now. Although atleast they are not going up, you can count on a price of where it is right now. It might drop or go up a couple of cents, but it shouldn’t rise too much.

It is really common sense why they are rising. The reason why is because prices are rising, people complain but they don’t drive less. As long as people still are paying for gas then the prices will keep rising. If you live in the country it might be harder, but you could buy a car that uses less gas, and if you live in the city you could walk, bike, or ride public transportation.

Experts say that the high gas prices are going to affect the American economy.

Gas prices are still rising, it doesn’t seem like much, but they definitly are.

It seems like cities that get traveled to more by out of staters, tend to have higher gas prices. Coastal cities such as Los Angelos and New york also have high gas prices. However, in the less populated areas of the United States such as in Kansas and Oklahoma, prices seem to be cheaper.

Americans as a whole in 2004 were going though 20.03 million barrels of oil a day. We are going though atleast 635.1 billion gallons of gas per day.

71% of our power is produces by fossil fuels and 21% from nuclear power. the other 8% is from other power resources.

America uses more money, gas and oil, and electricity than any other country in the world.
